Green mica scrap,the most common form in mica, whose chemical formula is KAl2(AlSi3O10)(OH)2, are mained from raw ores.It has obvious layered structure and it is fairly light and relatively soft.Mica is an important rock-forming mineral present in igneous,metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. As a natural silica, Mica is a very special functional filler due to its high lamellar structure and purity. Mica is chemically inert, resistant to most acids and oxidation, insoluble in water and has a high temperature resistance. It also shows excellent electrical insulation performance.

Muscovite Mica
Mica includes Muscovite, Phlogopite, Biotite, Sericite, Synthetic mica, Calcined mica, Conductive mica and Color mica flakes.
Muscovite Mica, whose chemical formula is KAl2(AlSi3O10)(OH)2, is the most common mineral of the mica family. Global mica consumption is up to 1 million tons and 90% is Muscovite Mica. Biotite Mica
Biotite is in black or dark brown, sometimes with light red, light green or other tones. It is in light reddish brown with high titanium content and in green with high ferric iron content. Biotite has vitreous luster and its cleavage plane has nacreous luster. Biotite is also featured by its extremely high electric insulativity, good acid and alkaline corrosion resistance, thermal and acoustic insulation and small thermal expansion. Huayuan Biotite is widely used in building materials, firefighting, extinguishing agent, welding electrodes, paper making and asphalt paper.

Phlogopite Mica
Phlogopite, also called bronze mica, is commonly in yellowish-brown or reddish-brown colors with vitreous luster, some in greyish-green color. Its cleavage plane has nacreous luster or submetallic luster. Phlogopite is pseudo-hexagonal crystalline or short cylindrical model. Phlogopite has excellent dielectric properties, such as relatively high insulating strength and large electrical resistance, low electrolyte loss, good arc-resistance and corona resistance. As to its excellent tenacity, high mechanical strength, resistance to high temperature and dramatic temperature changes and acid and alkali, phlogopite is widely used in heat-resistant insulating materials, heavy-duty anti-corrosive coatings, fireproof coatings and refractory materials, and aviation & radio industry.

Sericite is a subspecies of muscovite with small particle size, therefore it’s easily processed to superfine powder.
